01 · Abstract

Infrastructure as an earning asset

Traditional hosting forces a business into a walled garden: a platform owns the server, the data and the terms, and charges a flat fee whether the business is busy or asleep. The GenD Compute Network inverts that. Each business runs a sovereign web app in its own container, pays for compute per task, and contributes compute from hardware it already owns. When the compute a member contributes is worth more than the compute their apps consume, hosting turns from an expense into an earning asset. Whether that happens depends on the member’s hardware and on network demand.

The network is built from four parts: a hub (gend.me) that holds identity, groups and the ledger; containers that host each web app in isolation; nodes, from phones to servers, that execute tasks; and the desktop client that builds apps and runs nodes. Everything settles in DGEN, an earned-only unit accounted at one unit per Canadian dollar of service value.

02 · The problem

Walled gardens and flat fees

A platform that owns your infrastructure owns your business: it sets the terms, holds the data and can shut you down. Flat monthly subscriptions bill for capacity you do not use, and the hardware you already own, phones, laptops, workstations, sits idle. Meanwhile the processors between you and your customers take a cut of every sale.

The network’s answer is structural, not a discount: isolate every app, price compute from real cost, let members supply that compute, and settle payments through contracts the member writes.

03 · Architecture

Four parts, one identity

The hub

gend.me holds identity, groups (the Integration Hub), the gas catalog and ledger, the wallet and the contract engine. Its API answers nothing without credentials.

Identity protocol →

Containers

Each web app is a namespace with dedicated codebase and database disks and a private media bucket, provisioned on launch and torn down on delete.

Sovereign storage →

Nodes

Light (mobile), medium (desktop) and heavy (server) tiers execute task classes they are eligible for. gend.me compute is the fallback so no request waits.

Node operations →

The desktop client

Builds apps locally with AI, syncs projects to the hub, and runs the machine as a node.

Task classes and reference prices

Every request is a task with a class. Prices are derived daily from real cloud cost (vCPU, RAM, GPU seconds against benchmark hardware), converted to CAD, multiplied by a margin and reviewed by network administrators before they change. Usage is recorded only on success and split three ways: the requesting app, the node operator (40%) and the network.

05 · DGEN and settlement

An earned-only unit, accounted in dollars

DGEN is minted by smart contracts on work and settlement events: node payouts, referral commissions, contract splits and rewards. It cannot be purchased; top-up paths are disabled until they are an approved financial service. Because it is accounted at one unit per Canadian dollar, the ledger reads like a statement.

Customer payments arrive through bridge gateways (PayPal, Bitcoin and Lightning via BTCPay, USDC, ETH, POL and DGEN itself), settle in gend.me’s central accounts, and the Canadian-dollar value received is credited to the member’s wallet as DGEN. Web App Contracts then split that value on the same event.

  • 1 GAS = 1 CAD; 1 DGEN per CAD of service value
  • Six settlement rails
  • Contracts fire on payment, sales and reward events
  • Leo Tokens remain a separate unit for AI compute only
  • DGEN is not sold and is not an investment
06 · Identity and security

Keys that prove, not passwords that trust

Signed connect

Sites bind to groups with Ed25519-signed requests, owner approval and a single-use code exchanged for an install token.

Encrypted secrets

Tokens are stored in authenticated libsodium envelopes; cluster secrets hold gateway seeds and salts.

Signed updates

Plugin releases carry SHA-256 digests and Ed25519 signatures; the site refuses anything else.

Consent and opt-outs

A consent banner gates tracking; members can keep AI on gend.me compute only and opt out of the shared Brain.

Connect, plan, pay, migrate

Connect

Install GenD Society on any WordPress site and connect it to a group. Live.

Plan

Choose a dashboard plan to unlock the plugin suite on your own hosting.

Pay and migrate

Upgrade to a container, pick storage tiers, pay, and migrate on your say-so. Never on install.

Grow the node base

Desktop nodes today; mobile preview in testing; heavy server tier for pipelines.

The hardware under your desk can pay for the software above it.
