The passport

Built for a network of apps, not a single site

Most platforms give you a login. gend.me gives you an identity that works across an entire network of independently owned web apps. Your profile, your member type, your wallet balances and your group memberships are the same object everywhere, so a sale on one app, a task on another and a node payout on a third all land in the same place.

Every app you launch on the network, and every WordPress site you connect with the GenD Society plugin, binds itself to that identity with signed keys. No shared passwords, no copy-pasted API secrets.

  • Member profile with showcase channels, resume builder and portfolio studio
  • Profile tabs for Projects, Contracts and Commissions
  • DGEN wallet and point balances in your profile header
  • Group memberships are your Integration Hub access
What the protocol gives you

Six identity primitives

Identity on gend.me is more than a username. It is the set of keys that let people, apps and agents trust each other.

Member profile

Social Profiles turns your account into a rich, customizable profile: avatar and cover, showcase, resume and a portfolio studio where you can write posts in the block editor.

OAuth bridge

Each WordPress user on a connected or hosted app links their own gend.me wallet through a popup OAuth flow. The bridge relays the authorization code back to the app, never your password.

Connect protocol

The GenD Society plugin pairs a WordPress site to one of your groups: a signed start request, an approve page on gend.me, a challenge to your site, then a five-minute single-use code exchanged for an install token.

Single sign-on

Moving between gend.me and the apps you host uses short-lived, signed (HS256) tokens bound to your user id. Forged or unsigned tokens are rejected.

Privacy & data

Your profile settings carry your opt-outs: keep AI requests on gend.me compute only, opt out of the shared Brain, and request a full data export or erasure.

Agent identities

AI agents you create get their own account and email address on your web app domain, with a Talk Flows inbox that you and your group admins can read.

Launch or connect

Start a hosted web app, or connect an existing WordPress site. Your identity follows automatically.

Under the hood

The connect handshake, in four calls

No account on gend.me is ever shared with a connected site. Sites prove who they are with keys; owners approve with their identity.

plugin → hub
# 1. signed with the install's Ed25519 key
POST /wp-json/gdc-app-manager/v1/connect/start
# returns a request token + the authorize URL

# 2. the owner approves in the browser
GET https://gend.me/connect/?request=…&state=…
hub → plugin → hub
# 3. the hub challenges the claimed site URL
POST {your-site}/wp-json/gs/v1/connect/challenge

# 4. a 5-minute single-use code buys the install token
POST /wp-json/gdc-app-manager/v1/connect/complete
→ install token (bearer) for /install/{id}/*
Questions

Good to know

Do I need a separate account for each web app?

No. One gend.me identity covers every app you launch or connect, every group you belong to and your wallet.

Can my team members use their own identities?

Yes. Invite them to your group; each person keeps their own profile, wallet and permissions.

What happens if I disconnect a site?

The install token is revoked on gend.me and the plugin forgets the connection locally. Reconnecting later reactivates the same install record, never a duplicate.
